Bridges Community Support Services (BCSS) recently awarded Orlando bests in Human Services is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Independent Contractor PSR Counselor who has a genuine passion for helping individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Position Overview:
The PSR Counselor provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to eligible clients who have been approved by their Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) for PSR services.

Clients are provided by BCSS. Counselors may also provide services to clients who meet eligibility requirements and have an approved authorization for services.

Services may be provided individually or in group settings, depending on the client's treatment needs and authorized services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate, person-centered psychosocial rehabilitation services
  • Assist clients in developing and strengthening independent living skills
  • Help clients improve daily functioning and develop greater independence
  • Teach and reinforce skills related to:
  • Daily living
  • Communication
  • Problem-solving
  • Social skills
  • Community integration
  • Organization and time management
  • Goal setting
  • Self-advocacy
  • Other treatment-plan-related independent living skills
  • Motivate and encourage clients to work toward their individualized goals
  • Connect clients with appropriate local community resources
  • Provide services individually or in approved group settings
  • Maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate respect for every client
  • Complete required documentation daily
  • Obtain required client signatures and maintain required signature/service logs
  • Ensure documentation supports the services provided and the client's authorized treatment goals
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable Medicaid, HMO, agency, and program requirements.
Must:
Past Level 2 Background Have clean Driving Record Be able to work, office, home visits and field Be able to motivate clients towards goals

EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS
Candidates may qualify through one or more of the following
  • PSS (Peer Support Specialist) Certification
  • Mental Health Technician Certification

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions
  • Experience working with the substance use population
  • Experience providing community-based support services
  • Knowledge of local community resources

REQUIRED

  • Reliable vehicle and ability to travel to meet clients face-to-face

  • Ability to complete electronic documentation
  • Ability to complete required documentation and signature pages on a daily basis

CLIENTS & AUTHORIZATIONBCSS
provides clients to qualified contractors. Services must be provided only to eligible clients with an approved authorization for services. Clients are approved for services through their HMO/authorized funding source. Contractors are responsible for ensuring that required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
Documentation is a critical component of this position. Contractors must
  • Complete service notes daily
  • Ensure notes accurately reflect services provided
  • Maintain required signature pages
  • Obtain required client signatures
  • Maintain accurate service/unit documentation
  • Ensure services are consistent with the client's authorized services and treatment plan
  • Submit required documentation according to agency deadlines Reimbursement is only provided for eligible clients and services supported by approved authorization, required documentation, and required client signature/service logs.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR TERMS
This is an Independent Contractor opportunity
  • No competition contract
  • Flexible contractor-based service arrangement
  • Clients provided by BCSS
  • Contractor is responsible for maintaining required equipment and transportation
  • Contractor must meet all applicable credentialing, documentation, authorization, and service requirements
REIMBURSEMENT
Contractors are reimbursed bi-weekly at 30% based on eligible, authorized, properly documented units. Units| Reimbursement50 units| $135100 units| $270200 units| $540500 units| $1,350
Important:
Reimbursement is based only on eligible, authorized services with approved documentation and required client signature logs. Units that are not eligible, authorized, or properly documented are not reimbursable.
