Job Description

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a compassionate Support Specialist to provide direct assistance to children, families, and vulnerable individuals in our social service and behavioral health programs. In this role, you will help clients access resources, coordinate appointments and referrals, maintain accurate documentation, and support case managers and counselors in delivering high-quality, person-centered care. You will communicate regularly with clients, community partners, and internal teams, ensuring timely follow-up, advocacy, and problem resolution while reflecting LSF's mission, values, and commitment to cultural competence and professional integrity. Responsibilities Provide direct support to clients through intake assistance, appointment scheduling, and follow-up communication. Assist case managers and counselors with care coordination, referrals, and resource navigation for children, families, and vulnerable individuals. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic records while protecting client confidentiality and complying with HIPAA. Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to resolve client issues and improve access to services. Monitor client needs, respond to inquiries, and escalate urgent concerns to appropriate clinical or supervisory staff. Support outreach, education, and program engagement activities aligned with LSF's mission and values. Required Skills Client intake and assessment support Case coordination and follow-up Electronic health record (EHR) or case management software Documentation and recordkeeping Knowledge of community and social service resources Basic behavioral health and trauma-informed practices Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Appointment and schedule management Bilingual or multilingual communication (preferred)
