  • Part-Time
  • Hourly / Exempt The Volunteer Coordinator works in conjunction with the Director of Education/Volunteer Services and the Weekend Operations Coordinator to support the mission of the National Infantry Museum through the management of the Museum's volunteer staff.
Key Responsibilities:
    Volunteer Recruitment:
    o Create ongoing healthy relationships with local stakeholders and organizations to ensure growth within our volunteer department. o Arrange and attend, when necessary, off-site outreach programs to recruit volunteers.
      Volunteer Management :
      o Oversee volunteers on-site, ensuring their work is well-coordinated and aligns with the museum's needs. o Develop, promote, and grow a wide range of positive volunteer opportunities within the organization. o Ensure volunteers are aware of scheduled events at the beginning of each shift o Ensure information binders at the volunteer desk are up-to-date
        Training & Development:
        o Work with other departmental staff to create and conduct orientation training while providing ongoing training and developing skills among volunteers.
          Scheduling:
          o Ensure that volunteers are scheduled to support the various areas of operation, including visitor service areas and special events.
            Communication & Engagement:
            o Be the main point of contact for volunteers and other stakeholders, fostering a sense of community and appreciation. o Proactively work with direct leadership to address volunteer feedback.
              Compliance & Policies:
              o Ensure all volunteer activities are trained on and comply with the museum's policies and procedures.
              Qualifications and skills:
              • Previous experience working with volunteers.
              • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
              • Computer proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel, and Outlook).
              • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
              • Energy and ability to perform physical tasks daily.
              • Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
              • Proven ability to initiate and follow through on projects independently.
              • Bachelor's degree preferred.
              • Knowledge of the military community and access to Fort Benning are preferred.
              • Ability to work Tuesday-Friday, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

              From $16.00 per hour
