Role Description The Youth Development Specialist is a part-time (32hrs./week) on-site position located in Macon, Ga., and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The Youth Development specialist is responsible for the overall administration and operational success of the Anchor/Compass divisions of Pilot International. The specialist will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and facilitating positive youth development programs, organizing, and leading community events, providing education and training opportunities for youth, and communicating regularly with district leaders, coordinators, advisors, and membership at large. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develop and implement strategies that will increase Anchor/Compass membership.
• Leverage technology, marketing and communications platforms to deliver membership benefits.
• Assist districts and clubs with operational and administrative needs.
• Maintain Anchor/Compass website and social media.
• Coordinate strategic goals and objectives as the staff liaison for the Anchor/Compass Advisory Committees.
• Provide new club chartering information and tools.
• Create and publish monthly Anchor and Compass newsletters.
• Plan, Implement and direct the annual Anchor Leadership Summit w/Anchor Coordinator.
• Processes and ships sales orders.
• Responsible for seeking out and applying for grant opportunities for Anchor/Compass.
• Must be able to travel for a least one week out of the year on Pilot International business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements Strong knowledge of Positive Youth Development theory and practices. Prior experience in Youth Development programming or related work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and facilitate engaging and impactful educational programs for youth. Strong organizational and coordination skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with grant writing and reporting and fundraising. Experience working with diverse populations. Preferred Skills A bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or related field. Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with headquarters staff as well as with all levels of Pilot International membership and other stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, prioritization, and analytical skills. Prior "entry level" customer service experience or above working directly with consumers. Must have proven experience working primarily with youth and adolescents in a mentoring capacity or youth program role. Must be proficient in computer skills, and database management (CRM software knowledge a plus). Must be able to identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned youth program activities and lead the development, writing and submission of grant proposals for public and private funding.
