Hospice Houseparent | Saturday & Sunday | 2:00pm-8:00pm Topeka, KS 66606 Apply Overview Position Type Part Time Job Shift Day Apply Description Midland Care Connection Midland Care Connection is a not for profit, community based organization in Topeka, Kansas, dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas. Hospice House A peaceful, 12 bed, in patient facility dedicated to providing compassionate, end of life care when a home setting is no longer feasible. Here, patients receive around the clock, skilled hospice care from a multidisciplinary team—nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other specialists—focused on managing pain and symptoms with dignity and respect. The environment is designed to feel like home, offering comfort not just to the patients but also to their loved ones, providing space for visitation, emotional support, and moments of peace in the final chapter of life. Houseparent Non clinical team member who helps create a warm, home-like environment for hospice patients and their families. Their role focuses on hospitality and emotional support rather than medical care, including welcoming guests, preparing or serving simple meals, keeping shared spaces comfortable and tidy, and being a calm, compassionate presence in the house. Houseparents work alongside staff to ensure the hospice feels peaceful and supportive, helping families feel cared for during a very sensitive and meaningful time. Hours Saturday & Sunday | 2:00pm-8:00pm Pay Rate $12.00-$14.50/hour Shift Differential Rate $1.50/hr | Weekend Hours | Day Qualifications Required Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills Computer proficiency Preferred Compassionate and empathetic toward patients and families Calm and emotionally steady in sensitive situations Respectful of privacy, dignity, and confidentiality Strong sense of hospitality and service Dependable and responsible Good listener with a warm, reassuring presence Comfortable working around illness, grief, and end-of-life care Team oriented and willing to support other staff as needed Apply Today!
