A Social or Human Services Specialist identifies and arranges community services for clients. Can involve coordination of services for people with disabilities or those in recovery. They may also coordinate housing or job training assistance for immigrants, veterans, former inmates or families in crisis and can be involved in advocating for client needs.
The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) is a full-time, non-exempt employee. The VC leads the recruitment, screening, onboarding, and training of CASA Volunteers. The VC represents the agency in a professional, confidential, and positive manner when interacting with all parties.
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Communications, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field is preferred. Education may be substituted for significant relevant experience. Experience Volunteer management, teaching, public speaking, working with non-profit organizations, and experience working in the field of child welfare is preferred. Skills Exceptional organization and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required for engaging with the public, representing CSC at community events, and recruiting prospective volunteers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skilled at collaborating with individuals of diverse backgrounds, personalities, and perspectives. Strong technical proficiency is required, including advanced use of Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn and navigate additional software platforms. Responsibilities Lead the creation and implementation of the annual volunteer recruitment plan. Coordinate and execute volunteer recruitment activities, including but not limited to: Participation in community events Presentations of the CASA program Marketing content creation - social media, flyers, presentations, etc. Press releases and media appearances Provide immediate follow-up to all program inquiries and conduct timely program orientation. Screen prospective volunteers, conduct personal interviews, and evaluate applicant's appropriateness for training and volunteer service. Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate pre-service training. Coordinate with the Program Manager to ensure timely certification of CASA volunteers. Maintain documentation and data on all recruitment activities, program inquiries, applicants, and volunteers. Complete monthly volunteer recruitment and outreach reports and submit them on deadline. Assist in the planning and implementation of volunteer recognition activities and annual recognition event(s). Maintain current knowledge of child welfare practices, laws, and regulations. Including attendance at local, state, and national conferences as required or requested. Complete CASA pre-service training within six months of employment and become a Certified CASA Training Facilitator within one year of employment. Participate in and facilitate agency activities as needed - including evenings and weekends. Other duties as assigned.
