At Youth Oasis , we provide a safe haven and vital resources for justice impacted youth and youth and young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Through our emergency shelter and drop-in center, and transitional living programs we empower young people to build brighter, more stable futures. The Opportunity We're looking for a motivated, compassionate, and energetic Life Skills Specialist to equip young people with the essential skills they need to thrive! In this role, you'll inspire, guide, and mentor youth as they navigate the journey toward independence. If you love teaching, coaching, and creating engaging learning experiences, this is the job for you! What You'll Do Lead fun and interactive life skills workshops covering topics like budgeting, job readiness, time management, healthy relationships, and self-care. Help young people land jobs! Assist with resume building, job applications, interview prep, and career exploration. Prepare youth for independent living by teaching housing readiness, financial literacy and daily living skills. Be a mentor and role model —helping youth overcome challenges and celebrate their successes. Track progress and celebrate growth —because every step forward matters! Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
1-3 years working with youth, preferably in social services, education, or workforce development. Creativity & enthusiasm —you love engaging young people and making learning fun! Strong communication skills —you know how to connect, motivate, and support youth from all backgrounds. Understanding of trauma-informed care and youth development best practices.
