Company Overview Rebound, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to addressing the overrepresentation of Black male youth in the juvenile justice system. Through community-centered education, advocacy, and rehabilitation programs, Rebound aims to create positive pathways for youth to thrive and succeed. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Flex YES (Youth Engagement Specialist) Staff member to inspire and support youth in our programs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with young people from diverse backgrounds, fostering their development through mentorship, education, and positive behavioral support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development and eager to make a meaningful impact in underserved communities. Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with youth through engaging activities, mentorship, and active listening Support youth in developing life skills, social-emotional regulation, and positive behavioral strategies using evidence-based approaches like PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Assist in planning and implementing youth-centered programming that promotes growth, learning, and community involvement Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners to ensure holistic support for youth needs Maintain accurate documentation of youth progress, program participation, and case management activities Facilitate conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to promote a safe environment Support high-risk youth populations by providing tailored guidance and resources Work Environment and Scheduleing Rebound residential programs operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The Flex Youth Engagement Specialist is primarily an on-site position and may also work in the community while accompanying or transporting youth. Because this is a flex position, employees should expect greater scheduling and location flexibility than a traditional Youth Engagement Specialist position.

  • Coverage at Minneapolis or St. Paul residential programs.
  • Temporary reassignment between Rebound houses Whenever possible, schedules should be communicated in advance.
Flex employees may be asked to adjust assignments to address staffing needs; however, employees will not be expected to remain continuously available outside scheduled working hours unless Rebound establishes a separate on-call arrangement. Skills Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or community settings Knowledge of special education needs and behavioral health principles Strong communication skills for client interaction and family engagement Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse populations effectively Familiarity with adolescent development theories, child welfare practices, and youth program teaching methods Experience implementing positive behavioral interventions in classroom or program settings Background in social work, case management, or youth mentoring preferred Excellent conflict management skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally Join us at Rebound, Inc. as we empower Black male youth through innovative programs that foster resilience, growth, and hope. Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 44.0 per week
