Position Summary:
This role is responsible for establishing best practices, ensuring organizational compliance, and designing the framework for recruitment, training, and engagement. Rather than executing daily tasks for individual departments, this position empowers Program Owners by providing the strategy, tools, and monitoring necessary for their success.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a standardized onboarding and recruitment strategy for volunteers; audit these processes continually to ensure a mission aligned, consistent experience across all departments.
  • Identify volunteer coordination best practices by joining volunteer advancement organizations, attending webinars and networking with other organizations
  • Consult with Program Owners and provide strategic tools and templates needed for volunteer engagement. This includes advising on the development of training modules, videos, visuals, and surveys, and offering expert recommendations for appreciation and team-building initiatives.
  • Design and maintain the collateral for volunteer and foster onboarding and continuing education materials, empower Program Owners to deliver these materials by providing high-level updates and conducting occasional on-site audits or training support to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Work with the Events and Development teams on corporate partnership volunteer opportunities In addition to the above-listed duties, attendance at department meetings and monthly staff meetings is expected.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Event Manager consistent with your position, skills and experience.
Desired Experience:
  • Experience with internal professional development, training, or teaching
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of technology and experience maximizing software functionality
  • Experience implementing data-driven processes
  • Ability to work varied shifts and weekends when needed
  • Ability to create clear and concise educational materials
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to effective time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including making and receiving phone calls, writing and responding to emails and assisting with in-person events
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Calendar)
