12-hour shifts working 80 hours in a 14-day period. Days and hours vary based on assigned squad and operational needs. This position provides hands-on experience in public safety, investigations, customer service, report writing, traffic response, and police operations. What You'll Do:
Respond to non-injury traffic crash calls and complete accident reports Assist with traffic direction and scene management Investigate select misdemeanor calls and prepare reports Operate marked department vehicles while responding to calls for service Serve as a front desk representative for the Police Department Provide customer service and assistance to citizens entering the department Maintain and operate the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) terminal Enter, confirm, and update law enforcement information and records Communicate with law enforcement agencies and share critical information Prepare accurate reports and documentation Support patrol operations and assist sworn personnel as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Less than one year of related experience required Interest in criminal justice, public safety, or law enforcement strongly encouraged
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) certification within six months of hire
