Job Description
The Missoula Senior Center is seeking a highly organized, people-oriented and entrepreneurial Volunteer Programs Coordinator to help build and support a robust volunteer corps at the Missoula Senior Center as well as oversee and manage current volunteer programming, including the Underground Thrift Store. This full-time, on-site position serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers throughout the organization while also overseeing the daily operations and performance of the thrift store, which is entirely staffed by volunteers. The Volunteer Programs Coordinator must be able to effectively use relational leadership to strengthen existing programming - including the store, events, activities and dining services - as well build new opportunities for volunteer engagement among Center patrons as well as community partners. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can create structure in a busy community environment, and is comfortable moving between relationship-building, program coordination, and hands-on operational responsibilities. Experience in social work, nonprofit programs, volunteer management, community services, or work with older adults would be particularly valuable in this position.
