Responsibilities Offer empathetic peer support to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges, utilizing your lived experience to build trust and rapport Assist clients in developing coping strategies, goal-setting, and recovery plans aligned with their personal aspirations Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management when urgent situations arise, ensuring safety and appropriate follow-up Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care and share insights from your peer perspective Maintain accurate documentation of interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards Mentor clients through motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation for change and personal empowerment Participate in ongoing training on behavioral health topics, addiction counseling, social work practices, and crisis management to enhance your effectiveness Skills Strong understanding of behavioral health issues, mental health counseling principles, and addiction recovery processes Proven ability to perform crisis intervention and manage emergency situations calmly and effectively Excellent mentoring skills with a compassionate approach that encourages trust and openness Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and record keeping Skilled in motivational interviewing techniques to support client engagement and motivation Knowledge of social work practices relevant to supporting diverse populations Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and cultural competence This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about making a positive impact through peer support.
