Job Summary The Independent Living Specialist provides individualized support, coaching, and mentorship to youth and young adults transitioning from foster care to independent living. This position helps young people develop the practical, social, educational, and employment skills needed to successfully navigate adulthood and build stable, self-sufficient lives. The Specialist works collaboratively with each young person to identify strengths, establish goals, develop individualized transition plans, and connect youth with community resources. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, culturally responsive, strengths-based, and passionate about empowering young people to make informed decisions and advocate for themselves. Duties Provide one-on-one coaching and skill-building services to youth preparing for or transitioning into independent living. Assist youth with developing routines and strategies that promote stability and independence. Provide hands-on instruction in real-life settings when appropriate. Assist youth with setting and achieving educational, employment, housing, and personal goals. Support youth with job searches, resumes, applications, interviews, and career planning. Connect youth to education, employment, healthcare, transportation, financial assistance, and other supportive services. Document services, progress, and outcomes accurately and maintain confidentiality. Collaborate with case managers, service providers, caregivers, schools, employers, and other members of the youth's support network. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Service field, or minimum of a high school diploma and at least 2 years working with at risk youth Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the community. Commitment to trauma-informed, youth-centered, and strengths-based practices. Successful completion of required background checks.

Pay:

From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
