Are you a college student interested in pursuing education? Love working with kids? This is the role for you! The Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club is looking for energetic, caring and responsible team members to join our after-school staff. You'll help create a fun, safe and inclusive environment where young people can explore their interests, build confidence and reach their full potential.
What You Will Do:
Lead and support educational and recreational programs that foster learning, creativity and personal growth. Build strong, positive relationships with participants to promote self-esteem and confidence. Collaborate with fellow staff to plan and deliver programs that reflect the interests and needs of diverse youth. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents or guardians about the child's experiences and progress. Help organize and facilitate club events and activities throughout the year. Support youth in developing teamwork, leadership and conflict-resolution.
What We Are Looking For:
Must be at lease 18 years old. Proven experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting. Background or coursework in education, child development or related field preferred. Energetic, patient and passionate about working with young people. Strong communication, teamwork and behavior management skills Ability to handle challenges calmly and use positive approaches to guide youth behavior. Must successfully pass local, state and national background checks. Days & Hours Required (schedule subject to change). This is a year-round position, with part-time hours Monday through Friday 2:30-6:30pm
July-August:
