Duties Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals navigating mental health challenges and substance use recovery. Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change. Conduct crisis management and intervention when necessary, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients in distress. Facilitate client communication, active listening, motivational interviewing, and behavioral health education. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, connecting them with community resources, and promoting harm reduction techniques. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while documenting interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Advocate for clients' needs within culturally diverse communities, respecting individual backgrounds and preferences. Skills Strong crisis management and crisis intervention skills to handle urgent situations effectively. In-depth knowledge of behavioral health, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work principles. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Ability to work compassionately with culturally diverse populations while demonstrating peer support advocacy. Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques and harm reduction strategies to promote client engagement. Excellent client communication skills, including active listening and empathetic engagement. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
