Job Description

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to work in our Community and Family Therapeutic Support Services (CFTSS) Program.
Position Summary:
The Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) Behavioral Health Specialist will be responsible for the service delivery of the Children and Family Treatment and Support Services in accordance with NYS Standards of Care. These include Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST) services, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop the CFTSS Treatment Plan, including client centered goals, and deliver service components of CFTSS; specifically, CPST and PSR. Provide strengths-based service planning, youth guided care and psychoeducation to children and families in the community. Provide solution-focused interventions using evidenced-based practices. Meet with children/families based on the frequency, scope and duration noted in the Medical Necessity and Treatment Plan.
Service provision to include:
supporting youth with daily living skills, community integration, as well as social and interpersonal skills. Provide services in an individual, group and/or family capacity. Collaborate with families, schools, and other provider agencies to successfully provide a continuum of care. Participate in weekly individual supervision and monthly group supervision. Participate in ongoing training and professional development as necessary. Complete a minimum of 20 hours of billable contacts per week. Complete notes within 24-72 hours of service provision. NY Schedule:

MINIMUM Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree 3 years of applicable experience working in a human services field, preferably with children and families. Valid NYS Driver License in good standing as determined by the Agency.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
MSW, MHC or similar Experience in delivery of services in community based settings. The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
