Job Description
Social Services Specialist Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Services Specialist to support older adults throughout Wood County and help them maintain independence and quality of life. Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Social Services, the Social Services Specialist provides information and referrals, assists with health and wellness programs, conducts assessments, supports Medicare counseling services, and advocates for older adults and their caregivers. The position also collaborates with community partners and helps coordinate a variety of senior services. As part of WCCOA's commitment to service excellence, this position will be cross-trained in various agency operations. The successful candidate will obtain and maintain a ServSafe certification and provide coverage at senior center sites and meal delivery routes when needed, helping prevent service interruptions and ensuring continuity of services for older adults. This role requires adaptability, teamwork, and a willingness to support agency-wide initiatives. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) preferred Experience working with older adults, preferably in geriatrics Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of insurance Ability to pass required background checks and meet agency requirements Why Join WCCOA?
