Peer Support Specialist

Job description At Rise Up Recovery, we reintroduce individuals to becoming productive and positive members of their homes, families, and communities. Peer Support (PS) will use their lived experience with Substance Abuse Recovery, and skills learned in training to help others achieve and maintain recovery and wellness from substance use conditions. PS will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skill. At an appropriate pace, PS perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers, from ages 18 and above, in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. We are seeking full time Peer Support for Residences that are for adult women, 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Coordinate Daily Task within the Recovery Residence Assist in identifying community-based resources Provide outreach to targeted population Develops relationships and a resource base Assist in identifying problems in daily living skills and develops strategies to overcome these problems

Job Qualifications & Experience Required:

High School diploma or equivalent Must have an active driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle Must be a person with a lived experience of substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health & substance use disorder. Must satisfy relevant state requirements for Certified Peer Recovery Supporter including being registered through OMHAS as a Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter.
