A Social or Human Services Specialist identifies and arranges community services for clients. Can involve coordination of services for people with disabilities or those in recovery. They may also coordinate housing or job training assistance for immigrants, veterans, former inmates or families in crisis and can be involved in advocating for client needs.
Overview Responsible for supervising and directing the work of subordinates engaged in maintaining harmonious relations and discipline among residents in group-living situations. Schedules staff to provide quality coverage and services for residents. Directs overall planning, management, and operation of the Youth Activities related programs. Duties will be performed within the scope of the Department of Labor and Cherokee Nation policies and procedures. Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Science or a related field from four-year college or university; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional two (2) years of experience working with adolescents in a residential setting is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and training on computers. First aid/CPR training.

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
