Appl Orchard Hospice is looking for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our team! This position will require both office and field time. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities in the organization. Drives growth of the volunteer program through strategic recruitment, community outreach, marketing initiatives, and relationship. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities 1. Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program. 2. Ability to recruit, interview, train, motivate, and retain volunteers. 3. Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire hospice team. 4. Develop relationships with churches, colleges, veterans' groups, businesses, and community partners. Collaborate with marketing team on outreach activities that support both volunteer recruitment and hospice visibility. 6. Maintains current personnel files. Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner. 7. Reevaluate volunteer program as necessary. 8. Coordinate support/education meetings. 9. Attends interdisciplinary group meetings (IDG). 10. Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services. 11. Participates as needed in the budget preparation for program development. 12. Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. 13. Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities. Position Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree preferred but relevant work experience acceptable. 2. Minimum of two years experience in a health care setting preferred. Hospice and/or volunteer management, community outreach, or non-profit experience, hospice experience ideal but not necessary. 3. Ability to coach, supervise and respolve conflicts. 4. Understands hospice philosophy. 5. Strong skills in scheduling, documentation, maintaining files, tracking hours 6. Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs. Coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services. 7. Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees.
