Company Overview Lotus is Kentucky's designated Children's Advocacy Center and Sexual Violence Resource Center for the Purchase Area. We serve all eight counties with a comprehensive continuum of specialized, trauma-informed services that support children, survivors, and families from immediate crisis through healing and long-term recovery. Our work extends beyond responding when harm occurs. We work with families, professionals, organizations, businesses, and communities to prevent violence, strengthen community response, and create safer places for everyone to live, learn, work, and grow. Summary As a Crisis Response Advocate at Lotus, you will play a vital role in providing immediate support to survivors of sexual violence in regional hospital emergency departments. This position is essential in helping individuals navigate their medical and legal options after a crime and connect to essential resources and support that promote healing. Responsibilities Provide medical advocacy in the hospital setting, including accompaniment to a medical exam, education, crisis management and safety planning for child and adult victims/survivors. Provide personal advocacy, to also include crime victim's rights information. Provide victims/survivors with information and referrals to community resources for follow-up services and/or resources as needed. Provide legal advocacy accompaniment to law enforcement interviews in the hospital setting as needed. Make necessary reports of child abuse and neglect or abuse of a vulnerable adult to appropriate agencies as required by law. Maintain appropriate documentation of all service information, in accordance with funding source requirements and agency policies. Participate in post-service provision and on-going periodic consultation. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in sexual violence crisis response. Requirements Residence in the 8-County Purchase Area Region of Kentucky Valid driver's license High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of trauma informed care. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community organizations. Schedule Primarily remote shift work. Exceptions may include in-person training/onboarding, continuing education, or supervison.
Available shifts include:
Monday-Thursday 5pm-8am the following day Friday 8am-5pm and/or 5pm-8am Saturday Saturday 8am-5pm and/or 5pm-8am Sunday Sunday 8am-5pm and/or 5pm-8am Monday Compensation $50 per on-call shift & additional $25 per hour of response time, if required to respond to hospital call in regional emergency department
