Jesse Tree is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing eviction and homelessness. We provide crucial support and resources to individuals and families facing housing instability, helping them maintain their homes and regain stability in their lives.
Position Overview:
The Volunteer Coordinator supports our organization by recruiting and training volunteers on how to answer the Tenant Resource Center (TRC) calls and texts and supporting with client walk-ins. This position also supports Jesse Tree's Tenant Resource Center Program Manager in ongoing projects and maintains current community and volunteer resources to ensure the relevancy of availability.
Main Objectives:
Answer and direct phone calls and assist guests into the lobby in a polite and friendly manner - maximum 10% of time per VISTA limitations Educating about Jesse Tree's programs and services Completing Jesse Tree's screening forms Educating about Idaho's eviction process Strategizing solutions for tenants' housing instability using national best practices and local resources Maintain reception area and walkway in a clean and tidy manner Ensure public-facing resources are in good condition and accessible Keep the walkway clear of outside debris and mail accumulation Relocate deliveries to the Operations Manager's workstation to keep main walkways clear Recruit and onboard TRC volunteers with the support of the TRC Program Manager Updating online volunteer recruitment platform listings Respond to volunteer candidates and schedule interviews Completing a soft background check for all volunteer candidates Meet with volunteer candidates during scheduled interviews to educate about Jesse Tree's mission, vision, and values, and TRC volunteer position responsibilities and expectations Initiate and follow-up on the TRC volunteer training process, including answering volunteer questions and providing additional information about the TRC's processes and policies covered during the training Provide ongoing support to TRC volunteers while developing and cultivating volunteer retention and leadership Facilitate and maintain a culture of support for TRC volunteers Be available for volunteer questions via Slack, email, and in-person Ensure volunteers know where to find the answers to their questions, how/when to ask for help, and who to contact for complex client situations Ensure that volunteer check-in procedures are followed and records of volunteer hours are maintained Plan and implement volunteer recognition activities to recognize the contribution of volunteers to the organization Support the TRC Program Manager with quality control of ERA and ECA applicants Process daily application audits on a rotation schedule with the TRC Program Manager to ensure CRM profiles are updating correctly from Google Form responses Ensure all CRM profiles of applicants have the correct Application Status, Lifecycle Stage, and tags Ensure all applicants have received the Application Confirmation email after applying for maximum program transparency Respond to the emails sent to the office@jessetreeidaho.org email address Forwarding partner or fundraising opportunities to the appropriate JT staff member Work with the Development team to facilitate volunteer support of local fundraisers and events
Required Skills:

Preferred Experience:
One-two (1-2) years of professional office experience. Related expertise may be considered in place of degree. Experience in non-profit, customer service, event planning, and public relations is a plus. Experience with a nonprofit and community outreach is a plus but not required
