Empower Youth. Strengthen Community. Drive Meaningful Change. Bay State Community Services' Prevention Services Team and the Impact Quincy Coalition are seeking a passionate and dynamic Youth Development Coordinator to lead youth engagement initiatives focused on public health, upstream substance use prevention, suicide prevention, and mental well-being. This part-time role is perfect for someone who thrives in youth leadership development, community engagement, and prevention work. You'll partner closely with the Impact Quincy Coordinator to plan, facilitate, and grow the Impact Quincy Youth Action Team (YAT)—a group of motivated young leaders working to create healthier, more equitable communities.
Schedule:
In Person with occasional remote work opportunities! Expected to come into office at 1120 Hancock St, Quincy 2 times per week plus additional community events; occasional weekend and evening meetings; 20 per hours per week What You'll Do to Make a Difference... Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred). Relevant experience in primary prevention, youth development, public health, coalition work, or community organizing 2+ years of experience working directly with youth in a leadership, mentoring, or educational role Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Strong facilitation and communication skills; ability to communicate with youth and adults Knowledge of substance use prevention frameworks (e.g., Positive Youth Development, Strategic Prevention Framework) preferred Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of youth mental health and well-being Experience in community outreach and working with youth Understands the history of structural racism in the US as a root cause of health inequities Available to attend community meetings outside of regular business hours in the evening and on weekends Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills Creativity, flexibility, and ability to handle several tasks simultaneous Knowledge of local community resources in Quincy and/or resident of Quincy Ability to work very independently and also as a team Ability to speak two or more languages preferred Experience implementing the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) or developing strategic plans, logic models and program action plans Must be comfortable with public speaking and facilitating meetings Strong time management and ability to handle several tasks simultaneously Ability to prepare general reports, charts, and tables Certified Prevention Specialist, or in the process of becoming certified, or willing to work towards certification Valid MA driver's license acceptable driving record, reliable transportation and proof of insurance Acceptable background record check as required by program Bay State Community Services is an equal opportunity employer.
