Job Duties:
The Child Support Specialist Administrative Specialist II is responsible for receiving and processing employer information for the Child Support Services Division. Enters data into the Palmetto Automated Child Support System (PACSS). Performs clerical tasks for the Employer Services Unit. Performs job delivery and/or performance or appropriate customer service delivery to clients, the public, and co-workers as an integral requirement. Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the Agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data. Conducts research and outreach to employers and other parties maintained in the automated system to document appropriate contact and benefit information. Updates and verifies records as needed in a timely manner. Maintains other data within the automated system for court, private attorneys and other parties integral to the provisions of Child Support Services. Responds to system user alerts, inquiries and other related issues regarding wage withholding and other issues related to the Employer Services Unit. Monitors income withholding compliance. Provides guidance to employers on the income withholding process and individual withholdings. Troubleshoots problems by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established procedures and processes. Track, escalate and communicate unresolved issues to the appropriate staff member. Assists with reports to management primarily by using the problem ticket system to track work and status. Provides problem resolution information to others within the ticket system for shared use. Performs other duties as required. Performs Red Cross Shelter Duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed. A High School Diploma and one (1) year experience in computer system development and modification or support. An Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for the required work experience. This application for employment with the SC Department of Social Services must be completed in its entirety.
