Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Volunteer Relations, the Volunteer Coordinator assists in building, developing, and/or maintaining an effective, Christ-centered, biblically-based volunteer ministry throughout KARM. The Coordinator facilitates the work of the ministry in its endeavor to provide maximum service to KARM's staff to ensure the optimal environment in which volunteer ministry can flourish to serve KARM's guests, donors, and the volunteers themselves in accordance with KARM policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate the activities of the ministry and maintain the master calendar of activities related to the work of the ministry. Represent KARM in a manner demonstrating Christian character and to pray for the effectiveness of both the Volunteer Ministry and all of KARM. Recruit, select, and train volunteers for service in designated functional areas. Support KARM staff members by providing training, support and tools to ease the burden of effective department-specific volunteer ministry development. Work with KARM staff members to determine current and future needs for volunteers throughout the ministry. Partner with Director of Volunteer Relations to conduct KARM onboarding for new volunteers, conduct tours as needed, and provide necessary training to equip volunteers with knowledge and information needed to fulfill their mission. Maintain accurate and current data on volunteers and their ministry in order to both serve volunteers and provide a basis on which to measure volunteer effectiveness. Support Director in design and distribution of the newsletter and other communication pieces for volunteers and staff concerning KARM updates for events and current needs. Assist the Director in overseeing organization-wide recruitment efforts, messaging, and results. Assist the Director in overseeing volunteer recognition/affirmation strategy and implementation. In conjunction with the events ministry, works to ensure effective volunteer ministry placement and service for all KARM events. Represent the Volunteer Ministry both internally to departments (updating, championing) and externally to individuals or groups conducting necessary speaking engagements (recruiting, updating) Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills, and sound interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to maintain accurate information with a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to effectively adapt to change. Demonstrates a positive enthusiastic attitude. Can work independently. Commitment to Christian faith required; spiritually mature Commitment to KARM's mission and agreement with our statement of faith and guiding values Proficient in use of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other general office equipment. Willingness to agree with and abide by KARM's statement of faith. Must have an ability to relate to persons of all ages, backgrounds, skills and abilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree and/or equivalent experience working in a non-profit organization where volunteers are a vital part of the operation or related field. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other general office equipment.
