Full-Time / Non-Exempt Objective of the
Position:
The Housing Specialist I is responsible for conducting initial and continued eligibility as well as routine transaction processing for subsidized housing programs. This role requires a foundational understanding of subsidized housing programs and effective communication skills to ensure accurate and timely assistance.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with the application process for subsidized housing programs (HCV, PH, LIHTC, etc.) Review and verify documentation to determine eligibility. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case files. Provide information and support to clients regarding program requirements and processes. Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualification and Skills:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience Must complete specialist certification course within 60 days of hire. (HCV, Public Housing, LIHTC, etc.) Minimum of 1 year of experience in subsidized programs eligibility required. Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel Requirement:
Travel required as projects entail.
