United Way 2-1-1 provides people with information and support- whether financial, domestic, health or disaster-related. We believe in the highest quality customer service to serve all people in our community. In addition to providing customer service, we feel it is important to maintain community connection through partners and other vital organizations in order to meet the unique needs of those living within our area of service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Navigate resource database to assist callers with appropriate referrals, whose needs may include but are not limited to health, housing, food assistance, mental health etc. Become knowledgeable of resources and services in the community to provide accurate and relevant information to callers Work with team to provide coverage for opening and closing Update agency information in referral database Engage in and support other United Way internal programs Help with additional United Way seasonal projects, as needed (Day of Caring, Sub for Santa, etc.) Occasional outreach by participating in community events and working with partner agencies.
Qualifications:
Spanish speaker required Skilled in customer service and problem solving Bachelor's degree in social services, or minimum 1-2 years related experience in human service, non-profit or other related field.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds, needs and communication styles Provide active listening, empathy and other customer service techniques Explore referral options and provide support to clients in meeting their specific needs Handle crisis calls with difficult inquiries Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in timely manner Ability to learn computer programs and software quickly
Work Schedule:
Typical work schedule will be Monday thru Friday 8:30-5:00p.m. Needs to also be available in rare circumstances to join community meetings/events, Monday thru Saturday as needed. How to
