General Statement of Duties Develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs for social services staff to ensure compliance with regulations and improve service delivery. Identifies training needs, maintains awareness of career field training best practices, develops and delivers instructional content, evaluates staff development programs, and maintains training records. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and supports organizational goals by enhancing service delivery through targeted training.
Essential Duties General Statement of Duties:
This position is responsible for coordinating, developing and delivering benefits program training and creating job aids and communication strategies for information needed to accurately and efficiently deliver benefits programs including SNAP, Medicaid and TANF. The person in this position will need to maintain up-to-date program knowledge through case readings, communication with regional and state program staff and the regular review of policy and procedures.
Essential Duties:
Deliver state-mandated benefits training, after completing certification process. Create & deliver targeted training, communication strategies, tools & job aids based on policy changes, VACMS changes, quality control errors, agency error rates, subrecipient monitoring, appeals data, fraud data and weekly reports. Manage quality control process. Participate in calls & meetings with VDSS, including readiness call, and coordinate messaging and training. Coordinate and plan training for new employee onboarding and for the Career Development Process, including creating and maintaining a master training calendar and resource hub for all job aides, micro-learnings, and links to other program supports. Conduct case readings for benefits program staff to supplement supervisor case readings, minimum of 30 per month. Troubleshooting for policy questions and act as liaison with regional program consultants for policy clarifications. Coordinate wellness and teambuilding activities for the division. Participate in shelter team operations as designated by the Emergency Operations Center. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements Four (4) year degree in a relevant social science field, and three (3) years of relevant social services and/or professional development and training experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
