at State of Vermont in Home Based, Vermont, United States Job Description Overview This position is a home-based position that involving field work in the relevant Vermont counties. The primary areas of coverage include Bennington and Wyndam counties with some work in Rutland and Windsor or other counties if necessary. The Service Navigators role is to take a victim centered approach to allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to enhance the quality of life for the vulnerable adult while reducing the risk of future harm. The successful candidate will need to develop relationship with community partners, have a knowledge of what resources are available in the counties that they cover, as well as engage family members and potential perpetrators to ensure that the vulnerable is safe and has the resources they need. Environmental Factors Duties are performed in a variety of settings, but primarily in the field, including individuals' homes and residential care settings. Considerable field travel is required for which private means of transportation must be available. An incumbent predictably will encounter high level stress and emotional situations, strong differences of opinion, and potentially threatening situations.
