Job Description

Job Description NewLife Outpatient is seeking a full-time Master's Level Substance Abuse Counselor to join our growing Pell City team. This position is being added due to continued growth in our outpatient program and provides a great opportunity for a counselor interested in growing professionally in the field of substance use treatment. Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field required. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Position Responsibilities The Master's Level Substance Abuse Counselor will provide substance use treatment services in accordance with Alabama Department of Mental Health standards.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct substance use assessments. Facilitate individual counseling sessions. Facilitate group counseling sessions. Develop and update individualized treatment plans. Monitor client progress toward treatment goals. Complete required clinical documentation accurately and timely. Coordinate services with other members of the treatment team. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Outpatient Services. Employment Requirements Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Must meet all other employment and credentialing requirements applicable to the position.
