Substance Use Disorder CounselorFull-Time | Chico, California Help Build Something That Matters Renewed Life Medical Group is seeking a full-time Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor to help establish and grow our Chico program. This is more than a counseling position. It is an opportunity to help build a thriving addiction treatment program that changes lives throughout the North State. We are looking for an experienced counselor who is passionate about helping people recover, enjoys building meaningful relationships, and wants to play an important role in expanding access to evidence-based addiction treatment. About Renewed Life Medical Group Renewed Life Medical Group is an outpatient medical practice specializing in Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) for opioid, alcohol, stimulant, and other substance use disorders.

Position Summary As our first full-time counselor in Chico, you will help establish our local counseling program while working closely with other counselors, medical providers, and administrative staff at our Redding office.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive ASAM assessments and clinical intakes. Developing individualized treatment plans. Providing individual substance use disorder counseling. Facilitating weekly counseling groups, including some evening groups. Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation. Collaborating with counselors, medical providers, and administrative staff to provide coordinated, high-quality care. Building professional relationships with referral partners throughout Chico and the surrounding communities. Participating in community outreach to increase awareness of treatment services and improve access to care. While your primary responsibility will always be providing exceptional clinical care, we are looking for someone who enjoys connecting with healthcare professionals and community organizations and who wants to help build a respected addiction treatment program within the region. QualificationsRequired Current California certification or registration as one of the following: CADC-I, CADC-II, or
CADC-III
SUDCC-I, SUDCC-II, or
SUDCC-III
Eligible to provide substance use disorder counseling in California. Experience conducting comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and individual counseling. Experience facilitating group counseling. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Reliable transportation for community outreach. Preferred Five or more years of experience providing substance use disorder counseling. Experience conducting comprehensive ASAM assessments. Experience working in Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT). Experience facilitating telehealth counseling groups. Established professional relationships within Chico and the surrounding communities. Experience collaborating with hospitals, behavioral health providers, recovery organizations, probation departments, social service agencies, or other community partners.
