A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Our mission is to break the cycle of addiction leading to homelessness, crime, broken families, illness and death. We are currently seeking a part-time certified counselor to join our team of addiction professionals. Eligible applicants must be a certified Alcohol And Other Drug (AOD) Counselor in California.
Location:
Concord What the job entails: Facilitation of daily treatment groups using approved curriculum Conducting intake, assessment, treatment planning, individual counseling, crisis intervention and case management sessions Documentation of group notes and individual services Observing and collecting urinalysis specimens General office support (answering phones, making copies, staying tidy etc.) What the job requires: Valid certification/licensure to perform AOD/SUD services in the state of California (required) Proficiency in the 12-Core Functions of an AOD counselor and knowledge of "The Golden Thread" Training or experience with the ASAM Criteria (recommended) Two years of counseling experience (recommended) Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products Professionalism in dealing with clients and staff, and the ability to work as part of a team Full vaccination for COVD-19
Pay:
From $33.10 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
