A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Position Overview:
Kings View is seeking a Registered or Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor to provide counseling, case management, education, outreach, and treatment planning services for individuals participating in substance use disorder treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services Conduct assessments and support treatment planning Provide case management and referrals Maintain participant records and documentation Conduct testing and monitor participant compliance Communicate with referral sources and treatment teams Attend staff meetings and trainings
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Behavioral/Social Sciences or equivalent coursework Valid California Driver's License (Class C) Alcohol and Drug Registration and active pursuit of certification through a DHCS-recognized agency
Required Experience:
Two (2) years related experience Familiarity with substance use disorder treatment principles Experience with electronic health record systems
Preferred Qualifications:
CADTP membership encouraged Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Organized and detail-oriented Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality Team-oriented and adaptable
