A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Our methadone program is hiring for the position of Addiction Counselor. Here's what the position entails:
  • Enforce Elevate Healthcare's mission and values, including our harm-reduction and person-centered model of care.
  • Superior customer service, professional demeanor, and detail-oriented
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Alcohol and drug assessments
  • Case management
  • Ongoing assessment and treatment planning of program participants
  • Psychoeducation to individuals on the illness of opioid use disorder and it's treatment
  • Crisis intervention services
  • Treatment team collaboration with medical and other clinicians.
Remote positions may be available.

Requirements:
  • Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS); Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or candidate (LACC); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or candidate (LPCC) en route to obtaining addiction certification.
  • A good attitude, compassionate heart, and eagerness to serve.
