Months Job Duties :

Conduct initial client interviews. Complete psychosocial assessments and intake forms. Identify client problems, needs, and substance-abuse issues. Establish rapport and build effective relationships with clients. Develop preliminary treatment plans. Discuss treatment plans with supervisors. Provide individual counseling regularly. Provide or assist with group counseling. Conduct educational discussions related to recovery and behavioral change. Adjust counseling techniques based on client needs. Help clients address problems at home, work, and in social environments. Counsel family members about the client's behavioral/substance-abuse problems. Monitor client progress throughout treatment. Prepare accurate case notes and treatment documentation. Follow up with clients who miss appointments. Help clients access community rehabilitation and support resources. Work with clients who voluntarily enter treatment. Work with court-mandated/involuntary treatment clients. Explain voluntary and involuntary treatment options/processes. Participate in court liaison activities. Meet with families regarding involuntary commitments. Attend court and provide information about client treatment progress. Work with jail-related treatment programs. Interview individuals booked on felony charges for possible treatment referral. Evaluate whether a person may be appropriate for a substance-abuse treatment program. Recommend appropriate treatment programs. Explain available treatment programs to prospective clients. Complete detailed intake and eligibility forms. Evaluate client needs and make appropriate treatment referrals. Follow program eligibility requirements, procedures, and regulations. Obtain and verify detailed information through interviews and telephone communication. Assess behavioral progress and document it in behavioral terms. Exercise judgment when participating in treatment planning or recommending termination of treatment. Handle sensitive or difficult client situations and seek supervisor assistance when necessary. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science or related field. Experience in counseling in an outpatient or other substance abuse treatment program may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. About our
