A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Description

Odyssey Family Counseling Center is seeking an experienced, licensed Clinician to join our Adult Services Programs, with a primary focus on our Federal and Adult Substance Abuse Programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise in substance use disorder treatment as well as expertise with individuals involved in the judicial system and be committed to providing high-quality, client-centered care. Hours are Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week (hours may vary) Responsibilities Conduct trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult clients. Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and motivational interviewing. Provide individual and group counseling services for adults experiencing mental health, substance use challenges. Support clients involved in court-mandated treatment and recovery-focused services when applicable. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and agency standards. Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and community partners to coordinate care and support positive client outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and clinical case consultation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and all licensing regulations.
Qualifications:
Must hold at a minimum a master's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university. Licensed in the state of Georgia (Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health and/or addiction counseling. Demonstrated expertise in substance abuse disorders and treatment. Experience working with adult populations required. Must be credentialed or in the process of being credentialed with commercial insurance carriers. Completed CAQH by date of hire. Valid NPI number by date of hire. No grievances filed with any state licensing governance board, Medicaid, or Medicare.

Knowledge of CareLogic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Credentialed with Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial Insurance Additional Requirements Successful completion of a background check with fingerprinting. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
