Job Description
Applicants must have an empathetic and professional demeanor. Fresh Start Counseling Services is currently seeking an entry level Substance Abuse Counselor. The counselor will conduct assessments, treatment plans, group and individual sessions and discharge sessions. Primary shift is from 3-9pm and Saturdays from 9-4pm between the Merrillville and Hammond offices. Bilingual in Spanish is a requirement. Certification and/or Licensing is preferred but not required: CADAC, LAC, LCAC, LMHC, LMFT, MSW, LSW, PhD and/or a degree in a related field. Applicants may also possess entry level certification, a degree or experience in counseling or assisting people with addictions. Previous experience is preferred but willing to train.
