A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

About Cleanse Clinic:
Cleanse Clinic is a CARF Accredited outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment facility. We strive to offer a premium service in the community by providing a comprehensive suite of integrated services that include intensive outpatient programs, psychiatric treatment, case management, medication-assisted treatment, individual and group counseling. Together these programs target all aspects of substance abuse and other mental health issues.•

Counselors are the primary point of contact with our patients during treatment. Their role is to regularly meet patients in treatment at Cleanse Clinic and support their needs for addiction counseling while maintaining the highest of state, federal, and CARF standards. This includes the regular use of motivational interviewing, relapse prevention tools, and treatment plans to guide patients through their recovery. This position is Mondays and Thursdays from 7am-3pm.
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
Initial Intake Assessments Group Therapy Sessions Individual Counseling Treatment Team Meetings IOP Sessions Qualifications Active Indiana LADC license Preferred dual-licensed Kentucky LCADC Master's degree in relevant field 2+ years in Addiction Counseling preferred Preferred experience in MAT Excellent oral and written communication skills Successful completion of Criminal Background check Key Competencies Planning and organizing Communication skills Attention to detail Adaptability Customer service orientation Problem-solving Judgment Decision-making Confidentiality Integrity Stress tolerance
