A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Licensed Outpatient Counselor Position Summary:
Provide in person services at NL Whole Health Treatment Center/DeSoto Office. Responsible for the provision of group and individual counseling. Perform assessments, treatment planning, case management, and discharge planning. Self-motivated individual who can work in an active environment. Flexibility, ability to collaborate on a motivated team, excellent work ethic, and strong clinical skills are necessary. Requirements/Qualifications A degree and valid Louisiana state LPC, or LCSW license to practice BLS and CPI certification. (if not CPI certified upon employment, must acquire within 90 days of employment and maintain throughout employment) At least 2 years of group therapy experience. Three years of experience in Outpatient Counseling preferred Basic knowledge of computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Must be able to read, write, and speak English Strong communication, patient/customer care, and leadership abilities The ability to organize and time-manage, and be a
