What they do

A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here A licensed Clinical Therapist is needed for a residential treatment setting focused on whole-person, evidence-based care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.
Benefits Salary:
$65,000-$95,000 (DOE) PTO, Holidays, 401(k) Medical, Dental, Vision coverage Training & education allowance Monday-Friday schedule Requirements Maryland counseling license (CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C; preferred:
LCPC/LCADC/LCSW-C
) 1-3 years' experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, case management, and MAT Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment; proficiency in MS Office Responsibilities Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Provide evidence-based counseling and recovery-focused interventions Educate clients and families; support MAT and aftercare planning Teach coping skills and address barriers to recovery Coordinate referrals to community resources Participate in outreach and perform other related duties
