A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Description

Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC) or Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ADC-T) - Meeker County Jail You belong here! This full-time position provides substance use services within the Meeker County Jail setting, including treatment groups, counseling, treatment coordination, consultation, and education. This position offers excellent benefits, including annual CEU allowance. Full-time position, working Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
Provide group and/or individual co-occurring substance use treatment services within an integrated care setting. Opportunities to create/develop and maintain treatment program services and educational protocols. Apply positive communication skills in order to coordinate care across all members of clients' treatment team. Utilize best practices in order to advocate and support clients across all stages of their treatment. Provide care via a variety of methods ie. in-person; telehealth.
Requirements:
The candidate must meet 245G requirements for working in a SUD program. (LADC $29.50, ADC-T $27.32). Maintain active licensure. Successfully pass the Minnesota DHS Net Study background check.
