Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Substance Abuse Counselor Options Counseling Center - 3.3 Paterson, NJ Job Details Part-time From $40,000 a year 5 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Interpersonal skills CADC Individual therapy Organizational skills Working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor to join our evening team. A minimum of three nights per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:30pm. The ideal candidate has the minimum of a CADC Intern status. Knowledge of NJSAMS, IME, and ASAM criteria and strong computer skills preferred. The candidate would require the ability to work with a team, solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients from diverse backgrounds. Duties Conduct individual psychotherapy and psycho-education group therapy sessions to address client needs and goals. Document in time utilizing our EHR/EMR system (training provided). Collaborate with clinical team to develop comprehensive treatment plans and discharge planning. Maintain consistent contact with referral sources. Provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Qualifications A CADC at minimum is preferred, CADC Interns are accepted as well. Strong organizational skills for effective client chart maintenance and management of medical records. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.

From $40,000.00 per year
