You will have responsibilities including but not limited to: Assists in the supervision of CASAC counselors (when assigned) and providing needed support during crisis. Senior counselors should be involved in the crisis intervention.
  • Handles a small caseload, delivering all treatment components to assigned patients; providing both individual and group therapy.
  • Ensures that the clients in their respective program, building or floor are supported throughout the day and works with the RSS and RSS supervisors on the day-to-day concerns.
  • Participates in case conferences to assess patient progress, where needed; makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning and advancement to the next treatment level.
  • Makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness and needed revisions to the program design and/or policies and procedures.
  • Provides input for annual counselor performance evaluations for the Clinical Supervisor's and/or Program Director's review.
  • Teach and train staff in the clinical aspects of a treatment, rendering individual training whenever necessary, while observing staff performance in actual treatment situations.
  • Assist with the oversight of the CASAC intern program and training and onboarding.
  • Medication monitoring.

29. Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelors preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Independent license issued by NYS
  • Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum three years of experience working with the substance use disorder population
  • Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory role
