A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Description

Career details: We are seeking passionate, experienced, Counselors who are CDCA or higher license to join our team of professionals in the Columbus area. As a Counselor, you will provide integrated behavioral healthcare care services; diagnosis, treatment of substance use disorder and mental/emotional disorders, case management and treatment planning for clients who have been referred to Alvis for (SUD) Residential Treatment Program or Outpatient Care.

Education :

Highschool or GED Licensure :

CDCA Experience:

Two or more years of experience providing integrated behavioral healthcare services

MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Computer Skills:

Skill in use of personal computer and related software (e.g., Electronic records, Microsoft Word, Excel); use of office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, printer).
