PC ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Primary Counselor (P.C.) reports to the Clinical Director for overall direction, scheduling, and all administrative concerns.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/SCOPE

In a training capacity under the Clinical Director, the Counselor's key responsibility is to assist clients and their families to understand the disease nature of alcoholism/chemical addiction through lecture/discussions, video/discussions as well as through group counseling and individual counseling. In conjunction with other staff, the PC. assists in establishing the tools and systems necessary for their continued recovery.

•Must Have Associates or bachelor's and working toward certification through the PA Certification Board. Monday-Friday 8am-430pm Rotating on calls

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintaining a case load of seven to ten clients. 2. Writing psychosocial and problem listing as well as developing treatment plans. 3. Establishing and maintaining appropriate records on all clients in case load. 4. Completing all necessary documentation, including progress notes, assessment notes, and discharge summaries. 5. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions. 6. Conduct and follow through with client's family and referral sources. 7. Spend unstructured time with client community and steering and community leaders. 8. Follow up on training suggestions given by the Clinical Director. 9. Attend all appropriate meetings and in-service training sessions. 10. Oversee client activities. 11. Assure aftercare link-up for client.

From $19.00 per hour
