Job Description
Duties:
- Conduct group counseling sessions for clients struggling with substance abuse
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in addiction counseling
- Document group attendance, group information, individual notes using ehr program within 24 hours.
- Send email to other counselors and clinical director with the attendance.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in substance abuse counseling or related field
- Strong knowledge of addiction counseling theories, techniques, and interventions
- Experience conducting individual and group therapy sessions
- Familiarity with case management principles and practices
- Proficient in using ICD-9 codes for diagnosis and billing purposes
- Experience working with clients who have co-occurring disorders such as PTSD or other mental health conditions is preferred
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of ethical guidelines and professional standards in counseling
