The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical counseling and addiction medicine, with the ability to provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. This role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and implementing behavior management strategies to promote recovery and well-being. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for clients with substance abuse issues. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance abuse recovery Provide clinical counseling sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices. Implement behavior management techniques to support clients in their recovery journey. Use evidence-based approaches to help clients address the psychological, emotional, and behavioral aspects of addiction Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services Maintain accurate, timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and interactions Facilitate referrals to additional community resources as needed for continued recovery support Qualifications Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. Certification or licensure in substance abuse counseling (e.g., LSUDC, CADC, LADC) is required. Previous experience in substance abuse counseling or addiction treatment. Knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods and recovery principles. Skills Proficient in diagnostic evaluation techniques and assessment tools. Strong understanding of behavior management strategies relevant to substance abuse treatment. Experience in clinical counseling within addiction medicine or related fields. Knowledge of social work principles as they pertain to substance abuse recovery. Ability to provide compassionate support while maintaining professional boundaries. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction and documentation.
