A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.
Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Aspen Center Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Aspen Center in Waukesha County. Aspen Center provides residential substance use treatment for men in a supportive, recovery-focused environment, helping individuals build the skills and confidence needed for lasting recovery. As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you'll provide addiction counseling, case management, assessments, and individualized support to residents working toward their recovery goals. Responsibilities include facilitating individual and group sessions, completing assessments and required documentation, coordinating services, and helping clients access the resources and support they need throughout treatment. We're looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and passionate about helping individuals overcome addiction and achieve lasting recovery. Candidates must hold a valid SAC-IT or CSAC credential through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
