Vocational Evaluator - Independent Contractor Suncoast Evaluations has helped individuals reach their employment goals since 2019. We are seeking an experienced Vocational Evaluator to perform subcontracted evaluations for Florida Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) offices in the Tampa Bay area. This is flexible, assignment-based work for a qualified professional. Suncoast Evaluations provides the assignments and manages the referral relationships. Service Area Tampa, Brandon, Clearwater, Largo and St. Petersburg. Assignments are offered based on client need, geography and evaluator availability. Responsibilities Schedule and meet with assigned clients. Conduct vocational evaluations, including appropriate educational, aptitude and hands-on assessments. Evaluate clients' strengths, interests, abilities, employment potential and support needs. Prepare complete professional vocational evaluation reports. Provide supporting documentation and labor-market information as appropriate. Qualifications Candidates must be approved, or able to obtain approval, by Florida Vocational Rehabilitation to conduct vocational evaluations and must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways: Master's degree in Vocational Evaluation; Current Certified Vocational Evaluator Specialist (CVE) certification; Vocational Evaluator certificate from a nationally accredited college or university; or Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling/Rehabilitation Services, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Human Services, Clinical Counseling, Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Psychology, plus one year of full-time experience using vocational rehabilitation counseling techniques and one year of full-time experience conducting vocational evaluations. Schedule Evaluations typically take place over one or two days. This is a 1099 independent-contractor engagement, not a full-time employment position. The evaluator controls their availability and accepts assignments based on their schedule and service area. Compensation $425 per completed one-day evaluation and report. Two-day evaluations, when assigned, pay $850 per completed evaluation and report. Sign-on bonus available for candidates already credentialed by the Florida Department of Education. This opportunity may be particularly well suited to an experienced vocational evaluator seeking supplemental contract work, an independent practitioner interested in additional assignments, or a semi-retired professional who would like to remain active in the field.
