Job Description
Responsibilities:
Assessing the medical, educational, and professional backgrounds of injured workers to determine vocational rehabilitation needs. Collaborating with physicians, therapists, insurance companies, and employers to develop individualized rehabilitation and return-to-work plans. Coordinating vocational assessments, achievement testing, job analyses, ergonomic evaluations, labor market surveys, expert testimony/depositions, job placement services and career counseling. Facilitate communication between all parties, ensuring timely and accurate exchange of information and documentation. Identifying suitable transitional or modified work opportunities aligned with medical restrictions and injured worker skill sets. Monitoring progress and facilitating workplace accommodations to support successful placement or return-to-work outcomes. Maintaining detailed case notes, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with the NCIC Rules, or other states' jurisdictional guidelines and certification standards/ethics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

REQUIRED
Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS). Strong knowledge of workers' compensation, NCIC Rules, medical terminology, and vocational rehabilitation principles/standards. Experience in case management, or vocational rehabilitation, preferred. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze complex information, develop creative solutions, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Problem Solving:
Applying critical thinking to overcome challenges and create customized return-to-work strategies.
Communication:
Facilitating clear and constructive dialogue among all parties involved in the rehabilitation process.
Time Management:
Managing multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines. Exceptional computer knowledge and skills along with exceptional report writing skills. Computer knowledge including EXCEL, WORD, and Gmail. Proficient grammar, sentence structure, and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently. Must have reliable internet. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to and attend in-person meetings/appointments with injured workers in assigned location. Requires traveling for face-to-face weekly meetings. Requires a flexible schedule, adaptability, and readiness to respond to urgent needs.
